How long have you been practicing?
I have been practicing for over 15 years. I have a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BA in Psychology.
What is a typical session with you like?
Each session is essentially work towards an individual’s goals and exploration of barriers to achieving those goals. The focus of therapy is on the client’s present day reality and the future that they wish to create. The client is the expert of their life and my role as the counsellor is to guide and support them to achieve their goals.
How long do the sessions last?
The sessions last for 60 minutes.
How do I prepare for my first session?
It is recommended to go into the first session with realistic expectations, understanding that therapy is a process, not a quick fix. However, with a strong therapeutic relationship, therapy can be a successful tool towards resolving problems.
How is the service offered?
Counselling services are offered by telephone, online (including webchat).
Privacy and Confidentiality?
The sessions are kept strictly confidential unless legally obliged by Australia Law to share the information or if the client discloses information that would harm themselves or others. In this case, I have duty of care to report the information (Under the Code of Ethics and Practice of Australian Counselling Association).
