Ethnic Hair Care Donation DriveÂ
Join us in empowering our sisters through our “Sis, You Are Crowned” Hair Care Drive. Our goal is to collect donations for ethnic hair care products to be distributed to remote communities, shelters, and support services.Â
The “Sis, You Are Crowned” Ethnic Hair Care Donation Drive originated from my heartfelt desires through my life experiences as a single mother and a child in Foster Care due to FDV.
The emotional trauma of being separated from my family and inadequate support catering to my cultural and hair care needs negatively impacted my well-being.
The SheaMoisture Australia, 2023 SheaChangeMakers Campaign ignited my desire to distribute Ethnic hair care products to Sisters and children in care experiencing adversity. Sowing healing seeds in their lives and spreading the message of hope:”Sis, You Are Crowned With Glory, Curls and Coils That Carry Your Ancestral Strength and Legacy Within You To Overcome Difficulties In Life.”

Adversity affects your mental health and overall well-being. Inadequate access to proper grooming products, particularly for Sisters crowned with curls and coils that require extra love and care, may negatively impact their self-esteem and well-being.
We acknowledge the generosity of organisations, communities, and individuals who donate to charities and support organisations that empower women and families from minority and marignalised groups.
However, skin and hair care products for First Nations, Black and Women Of Colour crowned with coils and curls are often overlooked. Although other products may claim to be suitable for curly hair, these may not be suitable for First Nations and Ethnic women hair type due to their unique hair textures.
At Sisters Healing Space, we aim to close the gap by collecting donations for inclusive hair care products that cater to Sisters.
In addition, we will host therapeutic workshops and events focused on nurturing curls and coils, promoting wellness, self-acceptance and confidence.

Ethnic Hair Care Donation Drive
The “Sis, You Are Crowned” Hair Care Drive is a charitable initiative on Whadjuk Nyoongar Country (Perth) aimed at collecting Ethnic hair care products and monetary donations for distribution to remote communities, shelters, and young people in care. Our goal is to empower women of all ages from minority and marginalized communities who are facing adversity and hardships, by providing them with the necessary hair care products they need.
The ‘Sis, You Are Crowned’ Hair Care Bags will be distributed monthly through partnerships with organisations.Â
Empowered Curls
Hair care for Sisters’ goes beyond the application of products; it’s a therapeutic self-care ritual promoting self-confidence and strength. By providing access to inclusive Ethnic hair care products for women from minority and marginalised groups facing adversity. We aim to empower Sisters’ to reconnect with their identity and natural roots, reclaiming their ancestral strength and legacy to overcome life’s difficulties.
Inclusive Hair Care Products
Collecting Ethnic hair care and monetary donations to purchase products specifically catering to First Nation’s and Ethnic women’s hair. These efforts aim to support and reinvest back into communities by forming partnerships with organisations businesses. Together we make a difference.
Generational Impact
We aim to facilitate therapeutic workshops and events with young people and families. Empowering Sister’s to nurture their curls and coils, promoting self-acceptance and confidence. Cultivating safe spaces to unpack the impact of racism, texturism, and colorism on young people’s mental health and self-esteem. Our goal is to support and guide them on their journey towards healing, self-discovery and self-acceptance.

The Story Behind
The Initiative
As a Black African Women and Therapist , my work goes beyond the therapy room. I believe in promoting inter-generational healing by creating safe spaces for children and families from minority and marginalised groups to connect with their culture and identity to reclaim their ancestral strength and legacy within them.
I aim to cultivate a safe space for Sisters, young people and families to engage in meaningful and therapeutic conversations. Empowering them to nurture their curls and coils and fostering a connection with their cultural roots, empowering Sisters to recognise and embrace their ancestral strength, and honouring their legacy.Â
